Reason for consulting

Osteopathy for neck pain and headaches — Paris 14th and Asnières

A stiff neck at the end of the day, tension between the shoulder blades, headaches climbing from the base of the skull: these complaints often go hand in hand with long hours in front of a screen — and they can be worked on.

01 — Understanding

When the neck and the head answer each other

Neck pain is rarely isolated. The head weighs four to five kilos, and leaning towards a screen or a phone asks the neck and shoulder muscles for a constant effort. Over the hours those muscles tighten, the mobility of the cervical vertebrae decreases, and the discomfort settles in: stiffness in the morning, difficulty turning the head in the car, tension running down between the shoulder blades.

Many so-called tension headaches belong to the same picture: a band-like pain starting at the base of the skull and climbing towards the temples, often at the end of the day. The jaw sometimes joins the circle — night-time clenching, tight chewing muscles.

Stress and fatigue amplify everything: the heavier the period, the more the neck locks up. Consulting early often keeps the discomfort from becoming a habit.

02 — The session

What osteopathy can bring

After a conversation about your pain and your daily routine, the assessment examines the mobility of the neck, the upper back, the shoulders and the jaw. The techniques used on the cervical area are gentle and adapted to your sensitivity — never forced. They can help release muscular tension and restore mobility where it is lacking.

You leave with simple markers: screen height, phone position, short stretches to repeat during the day, and the signals that should get you up from your desk.

When to see a doctor first — an unusual or sudden headache, or one accompanied by fever, visual changes or vomiting, calls for medical advice without delay. Diagnosed migraines keep their medical care; osteopathy does not replace it.
