01 — Reasons for consulting

The most frequent reasons

02 — Understanding

Why see
an osteopath?

Pain should not become a habit. We often wait for it to settle in before booking a consultation, when addressing a discomfort early often keeps it from getting worse. A consultation can help you:

  • Ease certain pain Lower back, neck, tension that keeps coming back: we work on the painful area and on what keeps it there.
  • Regain mobility Recover range of movement in everyday gestures, at the desk and in sport.
  • More daily comfort Cope better with long hours sitting, carrying a child, short nights.
  • Help prevent recurrences Spot what triggers the discomfort in order to limit flare-ups.
  • Understand your body Leave with clear explanations of what was found during the session.
  • Get back to your activities Return to sport, work or walking at a pace that suits your situation.
03 — The session

What a session
looks like

  1. 01 Listening firstWe go over your pain, your lifestyle and your history. We check together that your reason for consulting falls within osteopathy's scope, and you take the time to ask your questions.
  2. 02 Osteopathic assessmentA series of tests to identify the areas involved and understand where the pain comes from.
  3. 03 Adapted techniquesGentle techniques, chosen from the assessment, to release tension and support mobility.
  4. 04 Advice and after the sessionRecommendations for the days ahead — rest, movement, workstation. Passing tiredness or soreness can occur after a session: it is normal, and we talk about it before you leave. A follow-up is only decided if it is necessary.

06 — FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long does a session last?

A session usually lasts between 45 minutes and an hour, conversation and set-up included — a little longer for a first consultation.

Do I need a prescription to consult?

No. Osteopaths can be consulted directly, without a medical prescription. If your situation belongs with a doctor first, I will tell you and point you in the right direction.

Is osteopathy reimbursed?

Osteopathy is not covered by the Assurance Maladie, but most mutuelles reimburse all or part of the sessions. An invoice is issued after every consultation — see the fees and mutuelle reimbursement page.

How many sessions are needed?

It depends on the reason. A recent discomfort often improves within one or two sessions; a long-settled complaint may need a more spaced-out follow-up. I never propose a systematic programme of sessions.

Does a session necessarily involve "cracking"?

No. So-called "cracking" techniques are only one tool among others, never a compulsory step. I choose techniques based on the assessment and your comfort, and nothing is done without your agreement — many sessions are entirely gentle.

What is your training?

Diploma in osteopathy awarded in July 2024 by Ostéobio (Cachan), a school approved by the French Ministry of Health, after a five-year full-time course. The title of osteopath is regulated by French law: it requires approved training and registration with the regional health agency. The diploma can be shown to you at the practice.

What should I wear?

Come in soft, comfortable clothing — the session takes place clothed. Bring any imaging (X-rays, MRI) and reports if you have them.

07 — At work

Osteopathy
in the workplace

Half a day on site, one quiet room, and your teams go back to work relieved. Preventive osteopathy works where the strain builds: long hours seated, repetitive movement, and the mental load that settles in the neck and lower back.
